2023 Winter Workshop for Undergraduate Students
    • Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, Lee Dongheon
    • From February 16 to February 17, winter ski MT was held in the Civil and Environmental Engineering department. Nine existing CEE undergraduates and 11 undergraduates entering CEE from this spring semester participated. The biggest goal of this MT was to welcome new friends, get to know each other's faces, and help them adapt to the department.

We departed by bus together at the school duck pond, and after arriving at the accommodation, we had a lunch at a nearby restaurant and greeted and talked lightly among the students. At first, we felt awkward about new faces, but through this time, we got to know their names and were able to speak comfortably.

We purchased afternoon tickets (from 12:30 to 16:30) for ski resort lift tickets. As I said before, there were many friends who were skiing for the first time, so good skiers taught me how to ski, and we were able to get closer in the process of helping them enjoy skiing. Also, some people who had bad memories of skiing rode snow sledding instead of skiing.

After skiing, we grilled pork for dinner. There were various happening in the process, but we think we all took it as an interesting event rather than complaining about it and had a pleasant dinner. It was a satisfied dinner with by preparing food such as sandwiches for friends who could not eat pork.

At night, we played a recreation game related to the department we prepared. I prepared it because I thought it would be a good opportunity to experience various events and members of the department, and I am happy that all students are satisfied with these games.

Overall, through this ski MT, I was able to get closer to new friends and get closer to existing friends. The department provided a lot of financial support, so students could enjoy it without any burden. In the future, it would be good to provide opportunities for new and existing students to easily get along with each other through such as this. Thank you to the department office and professors for supporting this MT.
