4 Prof. Taehyuk Kwon's Group, Korea's first construction of small cross-section real-scale TBM excavation testing facility

• Prof. Taehyuk Kwon's group(KAIST CEE) established Korea's first small cross-section real-scale TBM excavation testing facility. TBM excavation test can be conducted using a test equipment (patent registration number: 10-1987866) or a basement soil box in the facility. Through the facility, it is possible to verify the performance of TBMs before placing the TBMs on site and to verify newly developed TBM related technology. It is the only facility available for TBM operation training while actually making excavations in Korea.
